During the 2022 winter break, Ken and I traveled north for almost a week in search of birds and the beauty of the outdoors. We van camped through New York, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, and down the coast back to Pennsylvania. Some days we woke to snow blanketing the windshield. Every day we found a new adventure.

Looking for birds took us to the ocean and the inlets that provide the perfect lookout for a lighthouse. Ken is the bird guide. I am the unofficial researcher of places, towns, geography, geology, history, and whatever comes to me in my travels. I stumbled upon some interesting bits of lore and before you know it, we had the idea for a book!
